Beijing, China (AHN) – After being informed that the detained Chinese fishing boat captain will be detained in Japan for an additional ten days, China retaliates by announcing through its Foreign Ministry “China has already suspended bilateral exchanges at and above the provincial or ministerial levels,”
Not only this, but China has also halted talks with Japan on increased civil flights and expanding aviation rights, adding that a suspension of the bilateral meeting on coal production has also been postponed.
Previously, a Japanese fishing boat entered the East China Sea near the group of uninhabitated islands, and only its Captain, Zhan Qixiong, was arrested and detained after colliding with a Japanese naval vessel. Both China and Japan claim this area.
