ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Thursday reiterated the resolve of his government to provide all facilities to the people in line with the manifesto of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).
After the passage of 18th Amendment, the provincial governments have been allocated more resources, he said and hoped the devolution of ministries to the provinces will make dispensation of services at grassroots level expeditious, he added.
The Prime Minister expressed these views while talking to federal ministers and MNAs who called on him separately here at his chamber in the Parliament House on Thursday afternoon.
The Prime Minister observed that the devastating floods have destroyed the infrastructure including roads, schools and hospitals in various parts of the country which has also affected the growth rate of the economy.
He asked the elected members to make their development projects keeping in view the current difficult economic situation.
The Parliamentarians thanked the Prime Minister for convening Parliamentary Party meeting on Wednesday, which provided them a good opportunity to discuss their problems with the party leadership.
Briefings by Minister for Finance and the Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources helped them to understand the economic constraints of the government, said the Parliamentarians.
Minister for Health Makhdoom Shahab-ud-Din, Minister of State for Interior Tasneem Qureshi, MNAs Nadeem Afzal Chan, Rana Tanveer Hussain and Mehmood Sultan also held separate meeting with the Prime Minister and discussed the prevailing political situation.
The Health Minister thanked the Prime Minister for announcement of additional funds to fight Hepatitis in the country. He also discussed the matters relating to the implementation of the 18th constitutional amendment.
