Wazin, Libya (AHN) – Libyan freedom fighters captured the check point at Dehibah on the Tunisian-Libyan border after intense fighting, said sources inside Libya.
There were no reports of any deaths. However, 200 troops loyal to Col. Muammar Gadaffi surrendered to the Tunisian National Army.
TAP, the Tunisia’s state-run news agency, said among those who surrendered was two majors and a brigadier-general.
Gadaffi troops first entered Tunisia on April 16, as about 6,000 Nafusa residents fled to Tunisia. Skirmishes broke out between Gadaffi forces and both the opposition forces and Tunisian National Army, near the Libyan border town of Wazin.
Gadaffi forces also fired GRAD rockets, striking up to 30-kilometers inside Tunisia, killing a member of the Tunisian military.
