Orlando, FL, United States (AHN) – An Allegiant Air flight from Youngstown to Orlando had to make an emergency landing in Pittsburgh Thursday night. Officials say an engine oil leak forced the plane down but no injuries were reported.
Pittsburgh International Airport officials reported the plane with 140 passengers and five crew members landed safely around 7:30 p.m. The passengers resumed their journey on another plane and landed in Orlando Sanford International Airport about 4 a.m.
According to Allegiant officials the pilot shut down an engine and declared an emergency after a high-temperature oil light indicator came on about 7p.m. Maintenance crews later ascertained the plane was leaking engine oil and grounded the jet.
