U.S. Government shutdown averted

Washington, D.C.U.S. Government shutdown averted in 11th hour, United States (AHN) – Government lawmakers were able to reach a last minute budget deal saving the federal government from shutting down.

Billions of dollars were cut through bluster, bargaining and posturing in the media but it doesn’t completely solve the nation’s debt and deficit problems.

Late Friday evening congressional and White House negotiators were able to come to an agreement that would pay and support government operations through the end of September while cutting $38.5 billion in spending.

Additionally measures of the plan allow for the government to keep on functioning while details of the plan are formally written into legislation.
